Royal Challengers Bengaluru was one of the most active sides in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 mega auction. The side came into the event with one of the biggest purses available and managed to build a strong squad. It is worth noting that RCB managed to rope in both Krunal Pandya and Swapnil Singh.
The franchise used their RTM (Right to Match) card on Swapnil Singh, roping him in for INR 50 lakhs. Krunal Pandya was bought by the franchise for INR 5.75 crores. With both players having joined the same team, old news of a feud between the two stars seems to have gone viral.
In a clip that has gone viral, Swapnil Singh was seen talking about how he was one of the best all-rounders in the country, and as the selections for Baroda approached, he was informed by the skipper that there was no place for him in the squad. It is worth noting that Krunal Pandya was the skipper that Swapnil is seen talking about.

“I was the highest run-scorer for Baroda and also took so many wickets. In 2019, I was the No.2 or No.3 all-rounder all over India in white-ball cricket. Then in 2020, Covid hit, and there was a Baroda selection after that. I was playing continuously and thought I was sure-selection. I met my captain, who clearly told me there was no place for me in the team. So, I told him directly that I was in the top two all-rounders in India, so how’s this possible? He said my position was given to a young player, and I accepted it,” Swapnil Singh said in a video shared by RCB.

After his falling out with Krunal Pandya, Swapnil Singh found a new direction in his career after Irfan Pathan helped him get into Uttarakhand’s side. It is also interesting to note that Swapnil is not the first player that Krunal Pandya has had issues with.
The same has been the case with Krunal and Deepak Hooda as well where the former had threatened to kick Hooda out of the team, even using abusive language, according to reports.
